Lower Alsace Volunteer Ambulance Scholarship Fund

In 2024, the Lower Alsace Volunteer Ambulance Association created the Lower Alsace Volunteer Ambulance Scholarship Fund (LAVASF). Its program is intended to assist prospective high school graduates and students pursue careers in Emergency Medical Services or other forms of healthcare delivery in the pre-hospital setting. Career pursuits include, but are not limited to: 

  • Pre-hospital first responders (EMT, Paramedic, etc.)

  • Public health emergency medicine degrees

  • Health care focused emergency management degrees

Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis awarded by a committee of current/former Lower Alsace Ambulance employees and the current Board of Directors. Applications are accepted from June 30 through May 31 of every calendar year.

Minimum Eligibility:

  1. Applicants must be legal residents or citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and attend and/or will graduate from the Antietam School District or will graduate from Exeter Township School District and resides within the municipal borders of the Borough of Saint Lawrence.

  2. Applicants must be currently enrolled in or have been accepted into an accredited institution of education.
